Summer collection maintenance

This summer we will be transferring books into LASR to alleviate the overcrowding of shelves on the second floor of Case Geyer.   We will use the following criteria to choose which items to transfer to LASR.

  • Added to the collection more than  15 years ago
  • Total circulation of fewer than five times
  • No checkouts in the last ten years
  • Single-volume works only.

The transfer should have little impact on accessibility of materials, since faculty, students, and other users can request delivery to the Borrowing Services desk with the click of a mouse.

A book with an “in transit” status may be in the process of being transferred.  If a book you need is listed in the catalog as “in transit,” ask the staff at the Case Geyer Borrowing Services desk on level three to search for it.
 

LASR Maintenance 3/20 – 3/21

The ability to request materials from LASR will be intermittent Thursday and Friday (3/20 – 3/21) during maintenance. Users who get an error message when requesting a LASR item should repeat the request at a later time.

LASR requests experiencing software problems

LASR requests are failing due to a software problem. Staff are working to quickly remedy the problem and make the LASR requests functional. Friday, October 26th – 10:30 a.m. [Back up and running 1:00 p.m. October 26, 2007]

Catalog (Mondo) maintenance

The LASR system is unavailable Thursday, January 11, 2007 for maintenance. Deliveries will resume on Friday, January 12th.

The Library Online catalog will be unavailable during maintenance Saturday, January 13, 2007 from 1 PM through 5PM.

LASR downtime

Sunday October 15th LASR will not be accepting requests after 4 p.m. so that software can be upgraded. Regular requesting and delivery should resume Monday morning.

No LASR Deliveries

Service restored – Thursday, July 27, 2006

There will be no books retrieved from LASR until after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 while hardware maintenance is performed. LASR downtime extended through all day Wednesday, July 26. Please check with Circulation (x7300) for updated statuses.

LASR Hardware problems

An electrical problem on Aisle 1 of the LASR facilty, Wednesday July 19th, will limit access to materials until the problem is resolved. Repair is estimated to be accomplished by midday on Thursday, July 20th. [Corrected: July 20, 2006]

Restricted Services during Flooding

LASR deliveries will not occur today due to flooding and the state of emergency in Madison County.  Both libraries, Case Library @JCC and Cooley Science Library, are open.

Expanded LASR Delivery Schedule!

More LASR deliveries begin this weekend (November 4, 2005) :

Friday deliveries until 10:00 p.m.
Saturday 12:00 noon to 4 p.m.
Sunday until 12:00 midnight
