Coverage: 1989-present. Access to Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, and/or Arts & Humantities Citation Index. This resource has broad multidisciplinary coverage of scholary articles.  A feature which is somewhat unique to this resource is citation searching.  Using an important historic reference - one can see the more recent articles which cited the key reference.
Note: WOS searches Science Citation Index, Social Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index simultaneously by default.

Academic Search Premier Restricted Access Some full text available
Coverage: 1975-present (with selected older titles). A multi-disciplinary database with significant full-text. Covers information in nearly every area of academic study. Indexes 4,600 journals (of which 3,900 are peer-reviewed)

International Bibliography of the Social Sciences Restricted Access
Coverage: 1951-present. Indexes and asbstracts social science and interdisciplinary research. For book reviews, search title of book and REVIEW in Publication Type.

JSTOR Restricted Access Some full text available
Coverage: varies. Includes over one thousand leading academic journals as well as select monographs and other materials valuable for academic work. Journals are always included from volume 1, issue 1 and include previous titles. For most JSTOR titles, the most recent years of publication are not covered.  If you want the most recent scholarship on a topic, you should probably try another database.  However, current issues for more than 150 journals are available on JSTOR as part of the Current Scholarship Program.

Coverage: 1970-present. A database on reproductive health, providing citations with abstracts to materials in the field of population, family planning, and related health issues.

Recognizing that transparency and accountability are essential to development, the World Bank Group provides free access to its comprehensive set of data on living standards around the globe--some 2,000 indicators, including hundreds that go back 50 years. The data is available in Arabic, French, and Spanish in addition to English.

This is a free resource from the German reinsurance company, Munich Re.  It's main feature is the NatCatSERVICE natural catastrophe database, which is available after a free registration process.

UNdata Unrestricted Access Some full text available
UNdata is the United Nations Data Access System which provides access to current, relevant and reliable statistics. Some data goes back 60 years. The domains covered are agriculture, education, energy, industry, labour, national accounts, population and tourism. You can also find indicators such as Millennium Development Goals.  UNdata also has links to a very large number of national data and statistics organizations and agencies.

IPUMS (Integrated Public Use Microdata Series) Unrestricted Access
Census microdata for social and economic research. IPUMS-International is a new project dedicated to collecting and distributing census data from around the world.  At the IPUMS site - the Integrated Health Interview Series is also available.

This is a geoportal which allows you to search for geospatial data either spatially via a map interface or by keywords.  Tuft's partners include Tufts, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, MassGIS, Stanford and UC Berkeley, and geospatial data from all these institutions is available.

Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names Online Unrestricted Access
The TGN is a structured, world-coverage vocabulary of 1.3 million names, including vernacular and historical names, coordinates, and place types, and descriptive notes, focusing on places important for the study of art and architecture.

Intute: Science, Engineering & Technology: Geography Unrestricted Access
The Intute Geography Gateway provides free access to online scientific resources on the Internet. These resources include articles, e-journals, newsletters, reports and blogs. This search-based website brings together engineering, geography, physical sciences, mathematics, and computing.

US Geological Survey Unrestricted Access
Includes the interactive National Atlas of the United States and other useful data sources.

This is the online continuation of the multivolume Current Geographical Publications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's American Geographical Society Library.  The online version links to the tables of contents of geography journals from 2006 to the present.  The period, 1985-2005, is covered by GeoBib.

GeoBib Unrestricted Access
GeoBib is the online version of a portion of multivolume Current Geographical Publications index which is maintained by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's American Geographical Society Library.  It covers 1985-2005, while 2006+ can be found in the online Current Geographical Publications.
