Freshwater Ecoregions of the World
(FEOW) provides a new global biogeographic regionalization of the Earth`s freshwater biodiversity. The domains covered are agriculture, education, energy, industry, labour, national accounts, population and tourism. You can also find indicators such as Millennium Development Goals.

The TGN is a structured, world-coverage vocabulary of 1.3 million names, including vernacular and historical names, coordinates, and place types, and descriptive notes, focusing on places important for the study of art and architecture.
Intute: Science, Engineering & Technology: Geography
The Intute Geography Gateway provides free access to online scientific resources on the Internet. These resources include articles, e-journals, newsletters, reports and blogs. This search-based website brings together engineering, geography, physical sciences, mathematics, and computing.
US Geological Survey
