New content added to African American Newspapers 1827-1998

The lists of available titles organized by state and by starting date are now available. The few previously available titles are included within the lists. These represent about 17% of the material that will eventually be included within the collection when completed in one to two years.
When complete, African American Newspapers, 1827-1998 will enable users to search more than 270 African American newspapers published in the 19th and 20th centuries. Created in partnership with the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Kansas State Historical Society and the Library of Congress, African American Newspapers chronicles a century and a half of the African American experience.
